Like most businesses, the clinic has a cancellation policy to charge patients who do not attend their appointments, or who cancel with less than 24 hours’ notice. This includes patients with private health insurance as they will not pay the cancellation fee for you. I think we can count on one hand the number of times that we have actually implemented the cancellation policy, preferring instead to be as lenient as possible.
To enable social distancing, sanitising measures, and the need to change PPE between each patient, we currently have a 50% reduction in our capacity to see patients. Sadly, despite appointments being at a premium, too many patients are continuing to either cancel at short notice or just not turn up at all. This means that we are unable to offer that appointment to someone else in need. It is also even further lost revenue for the clinic.
Consequently, it is with much regret that we are now being forced to implement our cancellation policy as standard and patients will now be charged for late cancellations and non-attendance of appointments.
Please, to avoid being charged, give us 24 hours’ notice if you cannot attend your appointment or no longer need it.
