Treatment
Before treatment starts
Your first visit

When you come to us for the first time, the appointment will start with taking the case history. We will take note not just about the pain or complaint that may have brought you to the clinic, but also about your past health history. This will help in establishing your overall health picture.

A physical examination will then be performed. This will concentrate on nerves, muscles and joints, but other tests will also be done (e.g. blood pressure). Gowns are made available for patients to wear for the examination, as well as any following treatments.

If we believe it to be necessary, we will discuss further investigations which can be ordered (e.g. X-rays, MRI scans) or information to be requested from your GP (e.g. blood test results).

We will explain in clear, simple language what we found on the examination and what we believe the diagnosis to be. We will explain the proposed treatment course to help the complaint.

We will detail what benefits should be expected and if there are any significant risks associated with the condition and proposed treatment.

Chiropractic treatment mainly involves safe, often gentle, specific spinal manipulation to free joints in the spine or other areas of the body that are not moving properly. Apart from manipulation, as chiropractors we  may use a variety of techniques including ice, heat, ultrasound and exercises, and we can provide advice about posture and lifestyle.

Subsequent treatments

Based on the findings of the initial examination, we will advise course of treatment and likely timescales.

At each subsequent appointment we will take a note of the progress of your complaint, discuss any issues noted. We will assess your current condition and adjust our treatment accordingly.

All findings will be explained in simple and clear terms.

“After many years of traditional and alternative treatments, injections and painkillers, I finally saw improvement in my condition after being treated by Daniel Harvey for six month. I am very grateful to Daniel for his help.”
